Ram 1500, with the available 4.7L SOHC V8, is designed to run on conventional unleaded gasoline or E85 (85 percent ethanol, 15 percent gasoline) or any blend of the two. This allows you to take advantage of cleaner-burning E85 alternative fuel wherever it's available.

Life isn't always a smooth road, but the Ram 1500's legendary off-road capability makes it a nonissue. Selecting 4x4 is as easy as turning a dial. The 4-HI setting locks both drive shafts for extra grip and pulling power to give you confident handling on slippery, wet and graveled terrain. For the meanest grounds out there, the 4-LO position delivers a 2.72:1 gear reduction ratio for stump ripping, mountain climbing grip and power.

Accident Avoidance

For optimum control, Ram 1500 combines Electronic Stability Control+ (ESC), Trailer Sway Control (TSC) and four-wheel Antilock Brakes (ABS). ESC senses trouble and automatically performs brake and/or throttle corrections. TSC performs similar automatic corrections upon sensing sway in a trailer. And ABS greatly improves braking and control on slippery surfaces.

ParkSense®Rear Park Assist System
The available ParkSense®Rear Park Assist System+ detects nearby obstacles in and near the rear path of the vehicle to help you maneuver in tight spaces at parking speeds. The four bumper-mounted sensors emit ultrasonic sound waves to a distance of six feet, and provide an audible warning tone.
